My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite mid afternoon. This is a older property with the markings of it's history. I am impressed with the owners veracity in preserving the original inn while moving forward. It isn't easy to undertake a vintage establishment, operate it, maintain and improve it all at the same time. The preservation of unique places like this takes courage and patience, thankfully these folks are doing it. I read some earlier reviews and am puzzled by the snobbery of some of the comparisons made. Completely out of line. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, our light meal was perfect and my wife raved about her French onion soup. We look forward to returning for dinner in the near future.

We blocked rooms at the Lake House Restaurant & Lodge / the Baseball Hotel for our wedding guests to stay who were coming in from out of town. The rooms are like a historic and very cozy retreat. All options were pet-friendly which was a game changer for my family & rates were super affordable. Booking with Sabina was super easy & she ensured everyone received the best option for their needs. Plus, she is so friendly & approachable, she made us feel right at home. Another bonus is that the food and cocktails at the restaurant are delicious – we have been a number of times now! Thank you so much for making our wedding day so memorable. We could not recommend The Lake House enough, and can't wait to return!

Great long weekend getaway. Our host Sabina could not have been nicer. Very helpful and gave us some good suggestions of things to do. Very close to Cooperstown (Baseball HOF) and Fly Creek Cider Mill which is not to be missed. Had a great dinner Saturday night with live music and my wife said the French Onion Soup was the best she ever had. My fish was the special and delicious. Loved sitting out by the lake. Plenty of chairs and lit fireplaces at night. Room was very comfortable and clean. Enjoyed hanging out in the common rooms on each floor. Would stay again for sure!

A charming, quiet and comfortable hotel that reminds me of retro “up north” family cottages. Sabina and Patrick were quick to respond to and fix a slow drain in my bathroom which was caused by someone dropping a cotton ball down the drain. (Come on people, be responsible.) The property is super dog friendly. There are plenty of activities of the outdoor kind in a beautiful lake side setting. Can’t wait to return.
